Benefits that can be purchased with points from the Samurai class (or regular build points) can be found here (http://www.amalgamrpg.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5659#post5659).

Benefits are special powers characters have that separate them from normal people. They are the attributes that players have, other than class skills, that make them special. Benefits are separated into two major groups: Normal Benefits and Technique Benefits. Techniques are a special kind of benefit that represent something more easily learned, whereas a benefit is something that you cannot necessarily earn simply by learning. Nor can it be easy taught. Samurai gain extra build points each level they can spend towards the accumulation of techniques, but they cannot spend these special build points on normal benefits.

To buy a benefit, you spend build points. You initially spend a number of benefits equal to the lowest rank of the benefit in question. To raise a benefit, you spend another point to obtain the next rank, up to 5. Simple.

When a character is first created, they are given 4 build points to spend on whatever benefits they have the prerequisites for. These include many benefits such as bloodline traits which cannot be obtained after character creation without the use of the most powerful and costly magic in the empire. Racial benefits are another type of benefit that can only be obtained prior to character creation.

Characters are also allowed up to 5 points of "Flaws". Flaws are the antithesis of benefits, so to speak. They give your character more flavor, but only things that will negatively effect your character in RP. They do not cost points, but instead grant you extra build points. Bypassing your flaw or ignoring it, even at a dramatic moment, will cost you possible points in your writing. All graders will have your flaws in mind when they read your writing, so remember this. Furthermore, removing a flaw altogether will result in a "build point debt" of sorts.

Whenever a player levels, they are granted 3 points to spend on new benefits. Players may also get some flaws later on, however they must be obtained as rewards. See the "Flaws" post for more information).

Build Point Debt: Although unlikely, there are special circumstances that may occur in which a character finds themselves losing a flaw or having a benefit cost more after a retooling of the rules in which a character may accumulate a build point debt. In any case in which this may happen, the player will have the opportunity to redo their benefits as needed to remove this debt. If it remains or if they do not wish to do this, they may instead spend extra build points they have been saving or simply deny themselves future build points until the "debt" is paid off. This will probably not happen and shouldn't be a concern for most players.

Kami Blood [5]
Passive Benefit

Prerequisites: None

Discount: All PCs (Player Characters) receive this benefit for free. They must get this benefit without exception.

Description: Having this benefit means you are descended from the Kami, or else a descendant of another powerful divine being or a descendant of someone who was allowed feallty into the family or clan or a Kami or divine being. Most Kami Blooded are, naturally, members of the Great Clans. However, not all members of the great clans have Kami blood. This is not blood in a biological sense--for most with this benefit it simply means they have been accepted by the Kami and the Fortunes as someone with a special gift or unique destiny.

Ranks:
5. You are bound for greatness in some way. You are harder to kill and have special abilities that go beyond the powers of normal people. Taking this benefit allows you to essentially get and spend character points, gain class levels and have a major effect on the world's storyline. Major NPCs will have this benefit as well. You do not need to write down this benefit in your sheet.
