Names

We are an Eastern RPG. Trade has not opened with the west, and only the Wolf clan has maybe some foreign members (from the southern islands). But even they use similiar names. You can easily google Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc... names, so there is no need for you to be named "Isawa Bob".

Your name will be formally formatted as [Family Name] [Your Name]. So if I have a character named Kionchi in the Kitsune family of the fox clan, he will be called Kitsune Kionchi. If you are part of a vassal family of another great clan family, you are still called by your major family name, however you can informally be called with your vassal family name between your family name and your name, or just the vassal family name can be used. So if Kionchi was a part of the vassal family Nanake, he could be called Nanake Kionchi, Kitsune Nanaki, Kitsune Nanaki Kionchi or just Nanake.

Many times people just call one another by their Family name, especially when they are the only member of that family present.

A family name is the name of an ancestor who founded the family. If Kitsune Kionchi, for example, was to later be granted his own family after years of adventuring and great deeds, the family name would be "Kionchi". He would from then on simply be called "Kionchi". The founding member of a family is always just called this.
