Avatar Eggs are special gems formed ages ago that conferred upon the ancient people extraordinary powers. The method by which these are created is entirely unknown.

These gems appear like opal eggs. Upon being placed near the heart of an individual, ancient runes appear around these gems and they glow with the aura of the individual whose heart these were placed by. The egg becomes "aligned" to that individual. From that point on, these eggs must be kept by the individual at all times to fully progress. For each level that these items are kept with a person, they begin to grow.

Eggs cannot be destroyed unless the original owner of an egg is killed (in which case, they become fragile and useless, but pretty, shells).

When a person gains a level with an egg, the egg's rank increases by 1. At rank 5, an egg with become fully integrated with an individual. The individual will learn the name of their egg and will be able to call out its name once a day for every 5 ranks the egg has.

When an egg is activated, it unlocks the ultimate potential of the whomever owns that particular egg. The person gains an increase to speed, strength, agility or intellect (all increases on this site are comparitive of course) for every rank in their egg. A person can also elect to increase their character's class abilities as if they were one level higher for every rank spent instead. Every time a character gains a rank, they choose whether to increase an ability score (and which score) or their class abilities (and which class).

While in Tengoku, the realm of the celestial heavens, a person can use their egg an unlimited number of times. Certain areas in which Ningen-Do and Tengoku overlap have been uncovered and are believed to have been "avatar arenas". In these areas, avatar fights were thought to have taken place. While in these areas, all numeric positive statistics of an egg are doubled, and all negative statistics halved.

Avatar Fights: If two avatars meet, they may initiate an avatar battle. Both participants will be surrounded in a sphere of light, and all other persons around them will be tossed from the area. Both participants remain completely integrated with their avatar during the fight. Neither person can be killed during these fights, and save for winning and losing conditions, both members of a fight leave the battle exactly as they entered. Spheres of a fight are usually only 20 feet in radius, but within the sphere the fighters have about a 500 foot radius. Only people with eggs can sense what is happening within the sphere, and only people with avatars can see to some extent what is happening.

The winner of an avatar fight gains 1/2 of a rank. The loser may not integrate with their avatar for a week. Furthermore, avatar enhancements may be wagered during these fights.

Enhancements: Every 3 ranks, an avatar may choose an enhancement. Enhancements cost ranks, but do not count against enhancements to ability scores or class levels (so if you have a rank 6 avatar that grants you 3 samurai class level enhancements and 3 strength enhancements, you ALSO have 6 ranks to spend in enhancements. If you spend six on the flying enhancement, you do NOT lose any ability score or class level boosts, but you only have 2 more ranks to spend on enhancements).

Enhancement points may be wagered during a fight, as well as enhancements themselves. Unique enhancements MAY NOT BE WAGERED without staff approval. Enhancements with prerequisites may only be wagered if both parties meet the prerequisites.
