Ancestor Magic

A sacred magic of the Bear clan, protected since before the days of the Kami, ancestor magic allows living mortals to call upon their ancient and blessed ancestors and request their aid and wisdom in various tasks. Ancestors function like holy spirits or ghosts (so only casters or those who can see spirits will be able to see them), but will not follow or fight alongside a shaman like a normal ghost. Requesting help from an ancestor costs 100 GP per rank (you may always lower your abilities as if you had a lower rank in this benefit) and 10 minutes of prayer to the ancestor in question. You may only call one particular ancestor each month. A called ancestor must be part of the bear clan. The ancestor remains alongside you for 10 minutes + 2 minutes for every rank past 1. The ancestor adds +1 to any attribute, with an additional +1 for every rank past 1. Major attributes (such as strength, dexterity, etc... vs. lifting, sight, origami, etc...) only receive a +0.5 increase for each rank beyond 1.

If used outside of combat, this effect lasts up to 12 hours + 4 hours for each rank beyond the first. You may only have 1 ancestor aiding you at a time. Each of the ancestors usable are spirits of the founders of the families of the Bear clan.
